1.  There is this announcement of the winner of the annual Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest (Write the world's worst first sentence to a novel) along with submissions by NPR listeners. When I was teaching Dickens, I used to challenge my students to write a correct 50-word sentence descriibing one of the characters...

These elaboration materials are valuable classroom tools; should we make people aware of them at the network meetings?
